class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Concepci\u00f3n.<\/strong> \u2014 La investigadora chilena <strong>Apolinaria Garc\u00eda Cancino<\/strong>, directora del <strong>Laboratorio de Patogenicidad Bacteriana de la Universidad de Concepci\u00f3n<\/strong>, logr\u00f3 un avance hist\u00f3rico en la medicina al desarrollar el <strong>primer probi\u00f3tico del mundo dise\u00f1ado para prevenir infecciones por <em>Helicobacter pylori<\/em><\/strong>, bacteria considerada el principal factor de riesgo en la aparici\u00f3n del c\u00e1ncer de est\u00f3mago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tras <strong>17 a\u00f1os de investigaci\u00f3n<\/strong>, el trabajo de Garc\u00eda Cancino ha dado origen a un tratamiento que ya se proyecta como una herramienta clave en la <strong>prevenci\u00f3n del c\u00e1ncer g\u00e1strico<\/strong>, una enfermedad cuya incidencia ha ido en aumento, incluso en personas menores de 65 a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Seg\u00fan la UdeC, este probi\u00f3tico act\u00faa protegiendo al organismo de la colonizaci\u00f3n bacteriana en la mucosa intestinal. <em>Helicobacter pylori<\/em> se encuentra en cerca del <strong>70% de la poblaci\u00f3n mundial<\/strong>, muchas veces de manera asintom\u00e1tica, generando \u00falceras y lesiones que pueden evolucionar hacia un c\u00e1ncer g\u00e1strico si no son tratadas a tiempo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El descubrimiento, calificado como un <strong>hito de la ciencia chilena<\/strong>, abre la puerta a nuevas estrategias de <strong>prevenci\u00f3n temprana<\/strong>, complementando h\u00e1bitos de vida saludables y pol\u00edticas de salud p\u00fablica para enfrentar una enfermedad que se mantiene entre las
